Trip to Maine

We had a wonderful time at the cottage in Owls Head. It was very peaceful and relaxing! We enjoyed walking to a few lighthouses, going to the transportation museum, and going to General Henry Knox's home for a tour. At the transportation museum AWJC was able to get on board some planes from WWII...he actually manned the gun in one of them! He was also able to see some wonderful old cars and planes and learn alot about transportation and how it has changed over the years. At the museum of General Knox's home we were ablet o get a glimps at what life was like during the Revolutionary War. It was neat to see the guns from the 1700s as well as to see some items that the General and his family used. The Owls Head lighthouse was beautiful! The surrounding view at the top of the lighthouse was amazing. The Breakwater Lighthouse, which we saw each day and night we were there as it was right across from the cottage, was great as well. We didn't plan the trip to the Breakwater so well as we got caught in the tide and had to walk a few feet in cold water! The children enjoyed seeing their cousin...KAM seemed to have the most fun with her. PJM and I had fun with everyone and hope that we can do it again next year!
I'll put up some pictures shortly...kcm
