Happy New Year!

Andrew putting out a snack for Santa's reindeer.

Jamie having a snack at Mimi's house...he doesn't look too thrilled with it!

Kiera playing hide and seek...she put herself in the box and then covered her legs with the rug. She sure is special!

Well the new year is here and we started it off running....well we ended running too so I guess nothing has really changed. For Christmas we did a little surprise for Pat's family, we flew to Maryland last minute for the weekend to see everyone. It was fun and the kids had a great time seeing their cousins. Pat's grandparents had fun meeting Jamie as they had yet to see him in person. Pat's mom was totally shocked to see us walk in the door at 12am. We ended up buying tickets Friday night at 6:30pm and got on the plane that night at 9:30pm, so it was really last minute. We all had fun running around the house throwing things in a big bag to take north, we were all laughing as we yelled out to the kids what to pack. Of course we forgot things, like Jamie only had short sleeve onesies, no food and no bibs! We got back home Christmas Eve about 4pm and had a quiet night. Christmas morning we think Andrew was up earlier than we ever were....4am! I heard someone walking around and assumed it was Kiera, then when I heard that someone downstairs I got up and saw Andrew sitting in the middle of the floor under a blanket reading the note Santa left for he Kiera. I told him to head back to bed, which he did. he then got up at 7:30am and opened all his stocking stuff then got up Kiera to open hers. we were in full swing by 8:30am, the kids had fun and really enjoyed all the gifts they got from Santa and family. In the afternoon we headed to my mom's house and then in the evening we went to my dad's. By the time we were headed home it was 8:30pm and we were all tired and ready for bed. Andrew had another trip to Colorado this year with his father and had a great time snowboarding. School was finally back in session Jan 2nd for Andrew and Jan 3rd for Kiera. Both kids were ready to get back to school. Andrew has started basketball and is really having fun. I hope to tape or at least get some pictures of his games to share. Jamie has been sick off and on since early December. I took him to the doctor today and he said it was just a viral bug he caught and it just needs to run its course. And it looks as if Kiera is getting the same thing as she woke up stuffy today. Speaking of today, it is Andrew's 9th birthday! Can't believe that it has been nine years already, it goes by so quickly. To think that nine years ago today I was in a hospital room holding my first baby boy is amazing to me...seems like a lot longer ago, but at the same time it seems like it was just last week. For his borthday dinner Andrew wants to head to Ruby Tuesday and get some ribs, so that is what we are doing. I have made a cake, with my new mixer I got for Christmas from Pat, and we will have that tonight. This week will be busy with parent/teacher meetings and testing going on at Andrew's school. Hopefully Jamie won't be too bad off with his cold, otherwise I won't be able to get anything done at home this week, and there is tons to do!
