Well this morning, bright and early, we took Jamie to the surgery day center for his tubes to be placed and his adenoids to be removed. He was great all morning and did very well after the surgery. He was given his little kiddie cocktail at 7am and was funny to watch. He acted as if he had too much to drink, just laughing at everything and really slow on the reflexes. Pat and I couldn't help but laugh at him. I, of course, cried when the wheeled him off. I wasn't nervous about the procedure to be done, but it was hard to see him wheeled off and I was left standing there. Pat was nervous too, you could tell because he was cracking jokes all morning....he does that when he is nervous. After Jamie went back I went to the waiting room and Pat went off to get some food for he and I as we were both starved by this point, we had been up since 4:45am. I was able to finish my breakfast right before they came to tell us he was back in the recovery area. He was fussy, but they stated that was more from the meds making him loopy than any pain he was in. He drank some juice, no vomiting...yeah! We came home and Jamie was back in his bed fast asleep by 9:30am. He should be back to normal in a few days but he won't be fully recovered for 7-10 days. They said he might be fussy during this time, but nothing major. He gets some antibiotics just to make sure no infections occur, and the usual pain meds for kids as his throat may be sore. All in all the morning was quick and we are now on the road to recovery and no more ear infections.
