We don't carve our pumpkins here, we paint them. Not because it is less messy, but because we don't have the nasty mess to deal with as the pumpkin rots on the front porch in the heat. This past weekend we went out and got each of the kids a pumpkin and they painted them. Jamie would have used every bit of the paint had we let him just dive into it....he was very mad when I took him away from the paint to get him cleaned up. Andrew and Kiera had a great time, made some very colorful pumpkins.
