we went to south carolina this past weekend and saw another vet, he just happens to be one of pat's old college roommates, and he let us know what really caused the limping on wednesday. he said that her hips are probably an issue but they are not what caused her limping. her limp was caused by her knee, pretty much her acl, being strained. he told pat that in time the acl will tear and it will require surgery and that if her one side is bad then more than likely her other is as well, just they way it goes with dogs. he gave us pain pills to give sara when she is in pain, but other than that we can't really do anything to keep this from happening and there is no telling when her acl will tear. so not sure about the dog park, that may be something that gets put on hold for a bit. she did get to go swimming this past weekend and loved it, even though it was cold, she still swam for about an hour. and they weren't so sure that sara needs to loose much weight. i will still cut back her food a bit, but i am not going to starve her.
we had fun visiting with our friends and kiera and jamie had fun playing with their kids. we are already planning a time when they can come here for a visit. today we may see the play set get started in the backyard, but that is only if the rain holds off. if he can get started today the set may be done by the end of the week. the kids are ready for the play set to be up and so am i! it will be nice to be able to send them to the backyard to play while i get things done in the house. this past weekend was my dad's b-day and this coming weekend is my sister's b-day, so we will be taking her out for dinner adn then all gather at her house for cake and presents. i wanted to put pink flamingoes in her yard for her b-day, but they are expensive! so guess i will have to find something else to do.
