School's In Session!

Aug. 25th was the first day of school for Andrew and Kiera, both were ready and both had good days. Kiera had a few moments of sassiness afterwards, just tired and getting back into the routine of school. Andrew got sick within the first few days of school, some sort of congestion that made it hard for him to breathe and we thought it was mainly his asthma and when his inhaler wouldn't work we took him to the doctor. We got meds and they helped tons! He went to Char this weekend and will be back tomorrow morning sow we will have most of the day together. Jamie had his first day of school Sept. 2nd, he did great! He says he likes his new shcool and he is way more excited about school this year. He doesn't scream on the ride, well at least not yet. He is very tired when we come home so he usually eats lunch and watches a few shows to recharge his batteries. I am loving the fact that I get each morning to myself to do what I need/want. Last week I was able to walk the dog and work in Kiera's class. I will be in her class every Friday and may be in there more if the teacher needs me. I am totally excited about being able to help out more. I even signed up to help Andrew's teachers if they need anything. Although in middle school they seem to prefer you just send in things and not show up. I can't believe that next year at this time I will have all my children in school, I will have all day to do what I need. I have a feeling I will be up at the schools lots! Not sure if it will be smart to volunteer in Jamie's classroom right away, it may make things more difficult. I may see if I can volunteer in the school library, or the local public library.
I made the first day of school cakes again this year. Of course Andrew rolled his eyes when I told him that I needed to take his picture, but he did it anyways. I will post them soon, I have been bad about getting pics of my camera. I told Andrew that I know if I didn't make him the cake one year he would complain. I would be sad not to make one, it is something I have done since Andrew started school way back when, seems like a lifetime ago that he was headed off to kindergarten. I think even when my kids are gone to college I will make them cookies and send them away for their first day of school.
Our WF house still hasn't sold, one had one looky-loo since being re-listed. I will be so happy when this house has sold. It hurts that we have to pay $2800 in taxes on a home we have not lived in all year!!! And it will be nice to be able to buy this house and move forward with some plans. Living in limbo stinks....but other than that, life is good.
