Beach Trip

Well I took the kids to the beach this past weekend with my mom, it was lots of fun! Kiera had fun playing in the sand and water, she got totally covered in sand each and every day. Jamie also got covered in sand and did really well on the beach. He really was only on the beach about two hours on Monday, but he had fun digging and crawling all over the beach. It was funny towards the end of the day at the beach I needed to clean him off as he had sand in every little bit of him, so I stripped him down and in the ocean we went for a good cleaning. Luckily the beach we were on was not at all crowded, so he was able to crawl around in the buff for a bit before I cleaned him up, he thought that was great fun!

Night was a bit hard as we were all in one room and to get Kiera to sleep was very difficult. Once she was asleep she would toss and turn all night, so I didn't get the best sleep while we were down there. We were able to get to the aquarium, which Kiera loved. She saw eels and quickly said, "that is Flotsam and Jetsam" (from the Little Mermaid) and was so interested in the sharks. She was able to touch a sting ray and saw a horseshoe crab, which she learned is more related to scorpions and spiders than any crabs. We also saw otters and turtles, but her favorite were the eels and sharks. Funny enough we ran into some of my mom's old tennis friends that she hadn't seen for about 20 years, it was nice to see them again and to hear about their kids who we all used to play with.

We are now looking forward to our next beach trip which will be in August with Pat's family. It should be fun as I am sure Jamie will be walking full tilt by then. He is walking alot now, getting better at it every day, so not too much longer and he will be running with the other kids.
