Nothing new to report, nothing exciting going on...same old stuff just a different day.
Halloween night I took the two little kids to my mom's house where Kiera handed out candy. My mom and I noticed something, which never occurred when I was little, that a majority of the people coming to the door were teenagers, one was 17, and were not dressed up. What is up with that? Are kids so greedy these days that they feel they can just walk around and beg for candy and not put any effort into the whole dressing up idea? Next year I think I will put a sign out that says candy is for those only in costume. Come to my door without a costume and you will get a pencil, if you're lucky. And there should be an age limit. Andrew even stated that this was his last year, we didn't tell him, he just figured it has been long enough. Anyways, enough of that rant...Andrew was in Charlotte for Halloween and seemed to have a good time. Saturday I took the kids to my dad's house and we hung out all day and then had dinner there. It is nice to have him back in town. Monday the kids were off from school so I headed to see my friend Julie for the day. We left here about 9am and got home about 7:45pm, it was a long day. We went to a really neat park near Julie's house, hte kids had tons of fun running around, Jamie didn't want to leave and threw his typical 2 year old tantrum. Tuesday I attempted to take the kids back to my dad's since Andrew wasn't there on Saturday...big mistake. It was ok for a little bit but then the tempers started to fly. I think everyone was tired from the day before and we should have just stayed home. So we left my dad's after a quick lunch and visit and came home to just chill out. It didn't help that it was raining all day, so the kids were just tired of being around each other. Wednesday was better as all kids went to school. I wondered around the stores while Jamie was in preschool and got some ideas for Christmas. Later that afternoon Andrew had another dental appointment to get two teeth pulled. This time it hit him harder, he was really tired and in more pain that when the one was pulled. After the dentist we went to get milkshakes and once home Andrew was in bed for the night. He still had a little pain yesterday morning but it seems to be gone now. He is still dealing with a nasty cough that he came home from Charlotte with. It just seems to really get him in the morning and after he is running around. Today will be nice out so I am going to take wild man to a park and let him play all day. Tomorrow my sister and I head to the beach for a night, it is my birthday present and it has taken this long for us to find a weekend when we can go. No major plans while we are there, just go look around in stores and go out to eat. I will be home Sunday, I am sure earlier than what I think b/c I know I will miss everyone.
Monday we have the volunteer from the German shepherd rescue coming by the house to chat with me and hopefully get our application approved. She seems to think there is one available now that would be good for us. He is a white shepherd and good with kids of all sizes, but we want to seem him before we make any decisions. Pat may head to the adopt-a-thon that is tomorrow to see all the available dogs. So we may have a new family member in time for the holidays, but we are taking our time as we don't want to rush into getting a dog that won't be a good fit. Next week will be busy, there is no school on Tuesday and then Thursday Andrew has his all day field trip. He leaves the school at 7am and won't be back until 7pm...he will be one tired little boy. Kiera is still her same self, loves fairies, coloring, driving her brothers crazy and her dolls. That is it from here...hope you all have a great weekend!
