Mom: Kiera, why are you downstairs when daddy told you to stay in bed?
Kiera: I wanted to give you a hug and a kiss.
Mom: Go upstairs and get in bed. Daddy will not be happy that you got out of bed.
Kiera: But I didn't get out of bed.
Mom: Yes you did, you are on the stairs.
Kiera: No I didn't. I didn't get into bed so I didn't get out of bed.
Point taken. We are screwed.
