new sleeping arrangements

with jamie being 3 1/2 and not falling asleep in his own room we figured it was about time we did something about this. his normal way to fall asleep was with us in the family room in a big comfy green chair. we know this is horrible and he should have long ago been put in his bed, but in the past when we have tried to get him to fall asleep in his room he screams, for about an hour, and it is not a happy time. well it struck me that his whole issue with going to his room is that he is alone and he does not like to be alone. so i talked to kiera and asked her what she would think about sharing her room, then jamie's room would be like another small playroom. she said she would give it a try, but if he cries and screams it may not be that easy. so pat moved the bed from jamie's room and moved kiera's dresser out and now the two are sharing a room. so far it has worked wonderfully. the first night he cried that he didn't even want to be in the bed, but kiera read to him and then they had the book on tape and he did ok, some crying but not an hour. the next night was better, he didn't fuss to get up to the bedroom, but he did fuss a bit to get into bed. last night he was good, went up to bed, tried to fuss about the dark room and then was asleep pretty darn quickly. he got up early today, well for him anyways, 7am. he has been in a great mood so far this morning. hopefully moving him to a new room with his sister will help him going to bed earlier and getting better sleep. not sure how long they will share a room, maybe a few years, we will jsut see how long it lasts. and since kiera was tracked out the two of them have been getting along great. jamie loves his big sister and kiera has been wonderful with him, very tolerant and learning how to better deal with her younger brother. things are great right now in the mc'd household!
