Ok, I have to brag on my two oldest kids. I normally don't brag about my kids b/c I can't stand when other parents constantly brag on their kids like they are the best things ever and their kids are better than yours....but not today. I am bragging and bragging lots.
Last night I get a call on my cell phone from Andrew's social studies teacher. He was calling to let me know how Andrew was doing in school so far. I don't know if he called all kids, if so that is one committed teacher. But he called us to let us know that Andrew is doing really great in class, that he is a role model for other kids, he behaves wonderfully, participates in class and his work is wonderful. I was so proud of Andrew. But of course being me I get off the phone and scared the mess out of him by telling him we had to talk as I just got a call from his teacher. He and Pat thought he was in trouble, then I told them the good news. Later that night Andrew tells me that he is being moved from his math class to the advanced math class. I think it is great that Andrew is adjusting so well to his new school and we are very proud of him and all his hard work.
Kiera is also doing great. Her class had open house last night and I went to see how the class was running and just to get general info from her teacher. Her teacher is wonderful! I can see why Kiera loves her. Well her teacher is telling us that in the school there is a new behavior reward system where if a teacher (other than your own) sees you doing something good you earn a coupon. Her class is up to 26 coupons....other classes only have 6 or 7. If they earn 150 coupons they get to throw a pie in their teacher's face. Her teachers said that every time they pick the kids up from specials the specials teachers tell them how great the kids are and if every class was like them they would have a great day. Kiera is also doing wonderfully with her work. She is reading chapter books and she wants to read bigger books. She still reads some of her favorites, like Fancy Nancy, but she is also moving on to her Junie B Jones books and other chapter books from the library. I think that is pretty darn awesome.
So, my kids are awesome and I love them very much!
