Adios Tadpoles!

The tadpoles have found their new home in a nearby pond. A few had turned into frogs in what seemed like overnight, those escaped into our backyard before we knew it. It was a neat experience to check them every day and see if they had legs or what was going on with them. We had a few die after they turned to frogs, that was the reason we decided to let them go when we did. Pat said that when he took them over he went to the same spot where he released the first wave of tadpoles and he saw about 30 little tiny frogs hopping around, guess those would be the ones we set loose!
This past weekend has been busy and I am so glad that we had Monday to recouperate. The neighborhood block party was so much fun, the kids didn't stop moving the entire time and passed out pretty easily after the fireworks. The next day I was miserable, I don't drink so I wasn't hungover, but I felt like it. I was so tired and had a headache and was not ready for the company we had coming. We had a nice lunch with family and when everyone left we all hung out on the couches all day, it was so nice. Andrew was beat, he only two not effected seemed to be Kiera and Jamie, however I found Jamie passed out on his floor at 6pm, drool and everything!
He slept for a few hours and was up at 8pm but back to bed at 10pm. I didn't get to sleep until late, I finished my book "Warriors Don't Cry", I highly recommend this book. It is not a typical book that I would have picked up, but it intrigued me when I saw it at the library. It is a memoir of a woman who was one of the nine children to integrate Central High School in Little Rock. It tells of her year at the school and all she and her friends endured. Very good book, but be warned it is not easy at times to read.
On to a lighter subject....Pat's parents have offered to have the two little ones in a week while Andrew is off at camp, which means Pat and I will be home alone! I will go nuts painting and doing things around the house, or I may do lots of shopping, you never know which I will do. Pat and I may go to dinner where there is no kids menu, that would be a treat! It will be hard to have them away, but it will be nice for Pat and I to have some time to ourselves. We didn't have the typical marriage as far as kids went. Most couples get a few years with each other before they have children, we didn't get that, we have had kids all along. We would have a few weekends when Andrew was out of town before Kiera was born, but we have not had any lenght of time together since then. We have had a few nights away, but this will be the first time we have had days without kids. I told Pat he better watch out, we may have another dog in the house by the end of the week because I will need something to care for! Pat may take a few days off and do some things around the house. I may tackle the kitchen, that is a BIG may.
I get my new tattoos on the 16th, I will post pictures when I get them. I am very excited about getting them, I wish I could get in there now!
Andrew leaves for camp Sunday, he will be gone for two weeks. It is always weird when he is not here. He wants to go to camp next year for a month, we shall see if he can, but he may have lacrosse and not be able to go then.
Pat has been really busy with work, I hope all his hard work pays off when raises and bonuses come around!
We still have not sold our WF house. Not even anyone looking!! It has been on the market for almost five months and I think we have had five showings, which SUCKS. I may need to have a real CTJ meeting with our agent and light a fire under his butt to get him moving. We can't afford to keep this house on the market much longer. It is so draining to have to keep going back there and doing stuff to the yard...someone needs to buy the darn thing. We dropped the price by about $15K, so I was not thrilled but we thought at least maybe people will look at it.
I keep telling myself someone will come along soon, but I have never dealt with this before and it feels like there is no end in sight.
As for our new place I got the dining room painted and it looks awesome. I painted it a color called "paprika" and it looks so much better. Now I have to find curtains and a table cloth.
Hope everyone has a good week!
