we are still here

This past week has been crazy with the kids out of school for three days, Jamie missed school all week b/c of weather and the holiday, and the pups are demanding more of my attention lately. Monday was uneventful, the kids played and I did my normal stuff. Tuesday we had the snow and we were out in the snow a bit. Jamie loved the sled, as did Kiera, and Andrew of course was out with his friends. Sara enjoyed the snow but was chasing the sled. I thought for sure Wed. would be a two hour delay, but no, it was another full day off. That was the breaking point. The kids were sick of each other, the snow was melting and you couldn't really play in it and they were just getting on each other's nerves. Thursday they had a two hour delay, so at least they went to school for a bit. Jamie had his dance class and he was very happy to be there and see his friends. I registered him for preschool for next year, only two days a week. The three days was $195, two days only $170, so I figure I will save a little money. And they have a lot of days off on Mondays, so you the two days will be fine. I went and saw my dad for lunch. It was nice just to be with him and Jamie. When we got to the lunch spot Jamie reached out for my dad's hand, wanted nothing to do with me. He even wanted to sit next to Grandpa for lunch. It was nice to see him with my dad. Sara is nursing the pups less each day, can't say I blame her as they all have little teeth now and she is so bruised up it is sad to see. The pups were also crawling out of the tub so they are now in the enclosed pen, which also means Sara can't get to them easily to nurse. When I do put her in with them she doesn't really stay long, maybe two minutes, and then she wants out. So this morning I was down letting her in the pen, then back up to let her and then take her to go potty, then she got me up at 6:45am to let the pups out so she could see them. Again, she only nursed them a few minutes, so they got their puppy food and were very happy with that. Jamie is cute carrying around the pups, especially Jesse who is almost 5 pounds. I am not sure how long the pups will stay with us after they are totally weaned. They are starting to play with each other, it is very cute to see. Jamie says that Jesse is his, so he will have a hard time when the pups are gone, but I am sure he will quickly forget about them like most 2 year olds. He has also gotten into HI-5 this past week. Kiera loved this show, it isn't on tv anymore, at least I can't find it, so he watches the DVD we have. He is so funny to watch as he sings along and does the hand movements.
Oh, and while we have lots going on, still finishing the bathroom and the basement, I thought it would be a good idea to paint the one bathroom we do have. Good thinking huh?! It will be painted purple, as requested by Jamie...he loves purple.
