Well it seems that Jamie has decided to give Pat and I a late Christmas present, climbing out of the crib. He did it last night for the first time, and he is very good, doesn't make a sound. The rail was down at first, so I thought he was just able to do it because it was low, not the case. After trying many times to get him to bed in his crib, and many times he would climb out and come to find me, he was put in our bed to fall asleep with us. He finally dozed off at 9:30pm, along with his father. I put the gate up in the hall last night so Jamie can't get to the stairs, and it is a good thing I did. As soon as he was up this morning he climbed out of bed and went for the stairs. He came and found me in bed, yes I was still sleeping at 8:30am as I had a long night of tossing and turning.
So, now we aren't sure what to do with the little man. Kiera wasn't this young, at least I don't think she was, when she started to climb out of bed. I don't want to get him in the habit of falling asleep in our bed and then being moved to his bed, nor do I want him up all night until he just passes out. I remember with Andrew he would sit in the room and scream and I would have to go up every so often to tell him to get in bed, but he was older and would actually stay in bed...this kid doesn't do that. If he is out of bed he is running all over the place. I am tempted to try one of those net thing syou can put over the crib to keep little ones from climbing out, but I think Jamie would either hurt himself trying to get out or he would ruin the net in escaping.
Any suggestions????
