Hosting?

I saw this website on another blog and looked it up. It is a program where Us families can host an orphan for 4-5 weeks over Christmas so the children can experience American life and culture, and possibly be adopted by the host family. The website points out that only 20% of people go into hosting with the idea of adopting, but 80% end up adopting. All my life I have thought I would adopt a child. Pat and I have not seriously talked about it, I have brought it up and it is quickly dismissed when the thought of having another baby to raise enters our minds. But this website has older kids, some younger ones too, but mainly older ones. I brought up the subject with Pat and he didn't really answer me as to whether or not he thought it was a good idea. I don't think this year is, the dealine is November 1st and we don't have the $2K sitting around that is required to pay for the child to fly over. But I had thought that maybe next year would be a time to think about it.
So honey, if you are reading this which I am sure you are, we can talk about the possibility of hosting a child next year. As I type this I just got an email from the website letting me know that there are still 117 orphans unmatched....maybe it is s sign.

Kelly- You are a brave woman! It really does sound like a neat opportunity though.
