I realized that I have not put up anything of substance lately....well do I ever really?
Pat was busy this past weekend with my brother and Andrew working in the bathroom. We now have a few tiles put down and Pat hopes to get more put down this weekend. We have the big tiles for the floor, so it goes way fast. Pat also dug up the front yard and I put down grass seed so hopefully we will have grass grow and no have large bare spots and crab grass in the front yard. I planted some lariopie and mondo grass today and put some pinestraw around the front garden, it looks good but I noticed I need some more mums for color. I will get those tomorrow. I have been busy planning the neighborhood block party that is at the end of the month. I guess being the president you get to so all these fun things. I don't mind planning it, I have had fun spending someone else's money. It should be fun, we will have a big bounce house, popcorn machine, cotton candy maker, food, games and cake. I still have lots of shopping to do, so good thing the babysitter is coming on Thursday so I can run all the crazy errands.
Andrew is doing well in school. He got a 4 on his landform project...a 4 is good, really good. He seems to be doing well in school, at least that is what the interim report says. I will be volunteering again in his class this year, so I will get a better idea of how things are going, which I like. I highly recommend working in your child's class if you can, especially when they are older. you can put names and faces together with the other kids in class and you get a really good look at how the class runs. I hope to do this as long as I can, but I am not sure of what sort of volunteering is available in middle school.
Kiera is enjoying school, she actually likes her homework! She only has one sheet for the whole week, but she does it in one night, along with the extra work. She just wants to get it done so she doesn't have to worry with it the rest of the week. She is still dancing, although she wants to try gymnastics too. We will have to see about that, not sure if the schedule will allow it.
Jamie is.....well wild. He is so darn funny though. I am enjoying my time alone with him. Today he helped me pick out plants and we walked around Lowes so he could see the Christmas stuff. Then he was outside with me for two hours while I planted and cleaned out the garden. He had fun with the hose, especially when he could get me wet! Luckily it was on mist, so I wasn't too wet. He is taking dance classes as well and he seems to be having lots of fun. I would like to get him in gymnastics, but I want him to be older as I am not one to do the "mommy and me" classes. So maybe when he is three we can get him going....he loves to hang and jump so I figure it is right up his alley.
Pat's parents started their trip down south. It will take them three weeks as they are driving the boat the whole way. Guess they will be there by the end of the month unless there are weather issues.
We still have lots of work to do in the basement, and by "we" I mean Pat. Whenever I say "we" to him, like we have work to do, he looks at me and says, "are you French or do you have a mouse in your pocket?" That is his way of telling me that I am in no way going to participate in the project, but am making sure he knows he has work to do. Of course I say it to him when it pertains to the kids or cleaning the house, or cooking, or any of the other things that I do.
Next weekend Pat and I are taking Andrew to see the "Walking with dinosaurs" show. It should be awesome! I will let you know how it goes. In December we are taking Kiera to an ice show, something with fairies and princesses, so she will be happy.
I am going to rest a bit before the other two are done with school, which is in 20 minutes. Hope you all are having a wonderful fall so far!
