Home Again!

Andrew came home after a LOOOOOONNNNGGGGG month at camp. He came home very tired and wanting to sleep in his big bed where he could finally stretch out. Jamie and Kiera were beyond thrilled to have him home. When Jamie saw Andrew he started jumping and screaming, it made me a little teary eyed to see my youngest one get so excited over seeing his brother. After dinner Kiera and Andrew and I watched a movie in Andrew's room, which was nice. Ever since he got home I have felt more whole and less anxious. Having him gone for that amount of time was very hard for me. Pat said that when they drove into the driveway Andrew said "home sweet home"; guess he was happy to be here as well. He hasn't said he wants to go back for a month next year. Last year after only being there for two weeks the first thing out of his mouth was "I want to go back"....not so this year. This morning I found Jamie and Andrew snuggled up on the floor in Andrew's room shortly after Jamie woke up. And Jamie wants nothing to do with me, he wants Andrew to do everything; even push him in the cart at the store. Right now Kiera and Andrew are watching a movie downstairs. I just want the next few days to be really lazy days for him as he had a month packed full of activities and he needs time to rest and get back into the swing of being home before we get too busy.
Other exciting news this week.......the basement carpet is being installed tomorrow!!!!!! We will have a functioning playroom by tomorrow evening. We are so excited about this, as are the kids. I would really like to head to the store to find bean bag chairs for the kids to have down there, but before I do that we have to get all toys down there and figure out what furniture if any will make it's way down there. We think we can get the small couch down there and the recliner, but the big couch will stay upstairs, and if I am lucky maybe I can get some new furniture in the fall????(that is a hint for my husband) Of course furniture will come after taxes are paid and floors are put in. But he found someone who can put in the floors as long as we buy it and he won't charge us near what some other places will. It pays to know people with various trade knowledge. You don't need to know a lawyer or a doctor, you really need to be friends with a plumber, a HVAC guy, tile/floor guy, and drywall guy. Without all of these friends our basement would have cost us way more to finish.
Alright, well I am off to wake Jamie, no idea what time he fell asleep but it is now 4:22pm and he needs to be up if I want him to be asleep at a decent time tonight.
